A little mayhem goes a long way. It keeps us on our toes, makes things more interesting, and molds us into our best selves. Madame Mayhem wrangles all of life’s craziness, challenges, and chaos into the kind of anthems you need to scream along to as loudly as possible. The New York singer, songwriter, and performer reignites hard rock with her seismic range, nuanced inflection, and open-hearted songwriting. Amassing millions of streams independently, collaborating with icons, and earning praise from Revolver, Loudwire, Guitar World, and many others, she steps into her own with a series of 2024 singles and more to come.

“Madame Mayhem means embracing all of your anxiety, frustration, and hurt,” she exclaims. “This isn’t an alter ego; this is the real me. Honestly, I’m comfortable like this. I’m dealing with everything in the music. This is who I am.”

As a kid, music immediately enchanted her. After catching an Alanis Morissette music video, she gravitated to the mirror where she sang back to her reflection. In the meantime, she filled notebooks with handwritten lyrics. Mom regularly played the likes of AC/DC, Alice In Chains, Metallica, Nirvana, and Soundgarden in the car. Growing up, she balanced healthy helpings of Korn with Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys. Throughout high school, she spent weekends at Manhattan School of Music, honing her craft. She eventually achieved her bachelor’s degree from the Frost School of Music at University of Miami, studying everything from opera and musical theater to jazz.

“Even though I always knew I wanted to do rock, my voice was being trained in a million different ways,” she says. “Whenever I’m writing, there’s emotion behind it. I try to sing the way I feel. The classical training gives me a different level of awareness. This is a hard rock band with singing instead of screaming.”

During 2021, she broke through with “I Am More” co-written with Keith Wallen of Breaking Benjamin and produced by Johnny K [Disturbed, Staind]. Beyond generating over 281K Spotify streams, it cracked the Billboard Active Rock Top 40 Chart. Hitting the road, she has toured with Memphis May Fire, Fozzy, Nonpoint, and Sevendust. On a nightly basis, she even joined the latter for “Licking Cream.” Plus, she notably collaborated with everyone from Ray Luzier of Korn and Brian Vodinh of 10 Years to Corey Lowery of Seether and Troy McLawhorn of Evanescence, among others. Whether it be shining on Shiprocked! or gracing a bill with Judas Priest in Bulgaria, she always captivates with a magnetic mystique.

Madame Mayhem ignited her current phase with “Get it Right.” She co-wrote the track with Sahaj Ticotin [Ra], and it instantly reacted with hundreds of thousands of streams. On its heels, she kickstarted 2024 with “Headcase.” Working with Kile Odell and Zach Williams, her electrifying delivery shocked the track to life.  Airy piano gives way to a rush of distortion on the hook as she promises, “You’ve come to the right place if you want a headcase.”

“It was the perfect way to reintroduce Madame Mayhem,” she exclaims. “I used to want to stay behind the curtain. With ‘Headcase’, I’m telling you about myself. Everybody feels like a headcase sometimes, so I’m essentially saying, ‘Hi’.”

Then, there’s “Survived The Monster.” Ominous production seethes beneath her venomous lyrical bite as she promises, “But I swore I would fight you till the death.”

“It’s about a person in power trying to take advantage of you,” she reveals. “It stems from personal experience. You learn to survive and say, ‘Fuck off’.”

Elsewhere, “Kill You First” illustrates her dynamics. Tense cymbals skitter and shake atop an otherworldly soundscape as her arresting vocals take hold on the chorus, “You’re doing your best at being your worst. I swear I could kill you if you don’t do it first.”

“We have people in our lives who are basically killing themselves, either with drugs or hurting their lives,” she goes on. “They’re self-destructing, but you’re holding them together. How can you do that? It’s a heavy subject.”

In the end, she might just help you appreciate your own mayhem a little more.

“I’m not going to be lumped into any category,” she leaves off. “I’m creating the music that I wasn’t hearing. I’m not the same as anybody else, and I’m really proud of what I’ve created. I’m Madame Mayhem.”
